Anemone
coral Goniopora sp. Order Scleractinia The Anemone coral has polyps with long body columns so it is often mistaken for soft coral or a sea anemone. However, these animals do secrete a hard skeleton, which is only obvious when the entire polyp is withdrawn, as in this photo. With its polyps extended, the colony can be 30cm across. |
