Sea
squirt Polycarpa sp. Class Ascidiacea This solitary ascidian is common on Chek Jawa, on the rocky shore, seagrass lagoon and coral rubble area. (About 6cm tall) It has two siphons to suck water in and expel it out for a one-way current through the body. In this way, it filters out edible titbits from the water, and breathes and gets rid of wastes. |
