Gong-gong
Strombus canarium
Family Strombidae

A living gong-gong usually has a layer of debris on its shell which provides camouflage. (About 7cm)

The stromboid is the U-shaped notch at the tip of the shell through which one eye stalk protrudes. The other eye usually peers out from beneath the flared shell. The operculum is narrow and serrated.
