the Lower Peirce Boardwalk

Time: 9.30am and 10.30am.

You'll learn and see more about the plants and animals of the secondary forest and wetlands of the Lower Peirce Reservoir. More details. To join the guided tour, you will need to pre-book.

5 Jul (Sat): Free guided walk of
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Time: 9am, 10am, 3pm, 4pm

You'll see the fabulous plants and animals of the mangroves and freshwater wetlands. Meet at the Visitor Centre. Usual entry charges apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child /student/senior citizen. More details

5 Jul (Sat): Free talk on "The Mangrove Exposition"
Time: 3-4pm
Place: Marine Parade Community Library

Ms Jeanne Tan Pek Hoon (Senior Education Officer, Formal) will talk on the future mangroves. This future will rely in this present generation and generations to come. Inculcating an appreciation of the mangroves in these young ones will ensure that this natural heritage survives. This talk will show how education programmes can bring about this possibility and show that this is indeed a legacy worth passing on to the younger Singaporeans.

6 Jul (Sun): 4th Mid-Year Bird Census
by the Nature Society (Singapore)

Open only to NSS members or associates

Quoting NSS: "Anyone who can identify Crows and Mynas is good enough for the job". Primarily held to determine the density of our resident species (and some over-wintering species), this census will again be held at various locations throughout Singapore, led by experienced birders. Learn more about our birds at this time of the year. Which are the predominant species? Which are dwindling in numbers? Which are the ones that are increasing in numbers?
