Where
seen? This tiny fiddler crab with bright red eye stalks
is seen in the back mangroves of Chek Jawa on hard compacted mud near
young mangrove trees. The burrow seems to have a raised edge around
it so it resembles a chimney.
Features: Body width 1cm or less.
Body rather triangular when seen from above, but rounded below. The
male fiddler crab's enlarged pincer is not longer than his body width.
They come in a wide range of pschedelic flourescent colours. But all
of them have red eyes on red eye stalks. |
