Tiny under-stones brittle star
awaiting identification*
updated Oct 08

Where seen? This miniscule brittle star is sometimes seen under stones on our Northern shores. Sometimes, many are seen gathered together under one stone.

Features: Whole animal 1-2cm. Arms banded with short spines.

Looks similar to the tiny brittle stars seen in sponges. They might indeed be the same kind of brittle star but living in different places.
