Where seen? This medium-sized drill with bumps is often seen in groups on boulders and man-made structures such as seawalls especially on our Northern shores.

Features: 2-3cm. Shell thick with a spiral patterns of squarish bumps. The shell, however, is often hidden under encrusting plants and animals. Shell opening wide, the inner surface usually marked with dark bars or patches. Operculum dark brown.

Lays little long cylindrical egg capsules on rocks. Like other drill egg capsules, these are first yellow, then turn purple when the eggs hatch.
