Cockle
shell Scientific name Family name Also known as "see ham", this is among the favourite seafood of Singaporeans. These bivalves were found buried in the muddy sand near the shore. Like many other bivalves, it is dangerous to eat these at certain times of the year when there is a bloom of toxic algae. The algae doesn't kill the clam, but will harm those that eat it. |
