Tse-Lynn Why
I want to guide at Chek Jawa? Part of appreciating nature is
also educating other people about the wonders of nature so more people would
grow to love and appreciate what we have and work to conserve it. I enjoy
seeing the first spark of wonder in the eyes of the visitors when they learn
something new about what they're stepping on or seeing in their hands. My first time on Chek Jawa? I was doing collections with RMBR (the Raffles Museum) at the time, at unearthly pre-dawn hours. Remember seeing the first fingers of sunlight creeping in over the flats and the breathtaking view of all that followed. I never though Singapore could host such a rich, varied and beautiful landscape. Truly truly inspiring. My favourite creatures of Chek Jawa? The knobbly sea star and the button shells. Also seeing the spread of the seagrass lagoons. My favourite memory of Chek Jawa? In a single morning, saw a sea snake gliding in the water, and a sleeping grouper which woke up suddenly and shot off. What I do at high tide? Coral reef research at NUS. Also like being outdoors in terrestrial habitats, mountain biking and aikido. Visit my website! of Coral Reefs of Singapore. Conserve our natural environment!! |
