Dotted dove shell
Euplica scripta
Family Columbellidae

These tiny delicately-patterned Dotted Dove shells are often seen grazing on the algae that coats seagrass and seaweed in the lagoon. They have thick shells and a narrow shell opening that might deter crabs from crushing them or 'tweezering' them out of their shells. The pretty patterns on their shells are often obscured by the algae and encrusting animals that grow on them.
