Carpet anemone
Stichodactyla sp.

Colourful Carpets:
Carpet anemones harbour symbiotic algae (called zooxanthellae) that photosynthesize. The algae share the food produced with the anemone, which in turn provides the algae with shelter and minerals. Carpet anemones of the same species may have very different colours, some may even appear striped. These colours are probably caused by their symbiotic algae.
