20 Mar (Sun): Talk on "Man and Monkey"
Time: 2-3pm
Place: Marine Parade Community Library

Have you ever encountered monkeys when you visit our Nature Reserves at Bukit Timah and the Central Catchment? Do you have the urge to feed them because they appear "so cute" and the forest does not seem to have enough food for them? Well, if you do, you will be doing them more harm than good. To find out why, come and join us for a talk on monkeys and their relationship with us humans in the increasing urban landscape. It is the Year of the Monkey, so let us resolve to live in harmony with these forest creatures by understanding their habits, and how you can help to conserve them by playing your part! Admission is free, all are welcome. There will be an exhibition of "Man and Monkey" at the library the week before (13-20 Mar).

21 Mar (Sun): Birdwatching at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Time: 7.30am, meet at the Reserve's entrance.
Open only to NSS members and associates

Kenneth Kee will bring us to view the migratory waders which are on their way back to their home in the Northern Hemisphere during this period. Stopping over at SBWR to “refuel” before continuing on their journey up north along this East Asian-Australasian Flyway is an annual happening that we, as birders and nature lovers, are privilege to witness. As we walk through the reserve, we will view these myriad visitors through spotting scopes for a close-up view, while Kenneth will help with identifying the various species, their differences in feeding behaviour as well as features. More about Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.
