Nature activities and events happening this week

5 May (Wed): Plants in traditional songs and folklore
Time: 7pm
Place: Nature Society (Singapore) office, The Sunflower #02-05 510 Geylang Road

Angie Ng, Tan Geok Choo and Evelyn Tan introduce local folksongs, poems that refer to plants, insects or birds found in the region. How do local folksongs reflect the life, culture and thoughts of 'kampong people' of their time? Want to learn a pantun or two? Come for this casual and fun sharing session. And if you have a tale or two to add, or a song that we can learn, we'd love to hear it. Bring along your guitar or ukulele!
