Family Xanthidae
updated Oct 08

Where seen? This tiny jewel of a crab was seen once on Labrador.

Features: Body width 1-2cm. Body and claws bright red with bumps and ridges. Like other brightly coloured Xanthid crabs, it is probably poisonous. These tiny, slow-moving crabs hide in crevices in coral and rubble.

Labrador, Jul 05
