Where seen? This fat plain pufferfish is sometimes seen. Several were seen once, at night on Sisters Island in lagoon near living reefs.

Features: Grows to about 30cm, those seen 8-10cm. Body rather plain without markings, tail fin yellowish with a dark brown rim.
Sometimes, the eyes are yellow. Sometimes, they are found in small groups.

Status and threats: Our pufferfishes are not listed as among the threatened animals of Singapore. However, like other creatures of the intertidal zone, they are affected by human activities such as reclamation and pollution.
