Help to save the environment. Use the same mug for Starbucks coffee
Letter from Karen Young (Mrs)

Last Thursday was Customer Appreciation Day at Starbucks. I was told this by the friendly staff as they presented me a tumbler as a gift. The note attached to it thanked the customers and asked them to use the tumbler when purchasing drinks to help save the environment.

What a brilliant effort from Starbucks! I went to their website to send some feedback and was pleasantly surprised to learn more about their various corporate social responsibility initiatives. Stakeholders are identified with programmes to reach out and support farmers, communities, partners. I always wondered why their staff were so happy.

By this one gesture in communicating their beliefs, they have captured at least one more customer as I will certainly be buying my overpriced drinks from them. I will also be bringing my tumbler along. I hope that many others are encouraged to support the efforts of such companies.
