Kranji Nature Trail
2 kms, 20 mins to walk, easy trail
This 2-km dirt trail connects the bus stop at Kranji Reservoir Park
to the Reserve (look for the entrance to Trail near the coast to the
right of the bus stop).
Intentionally left wild and rugged, the trail brings you past grasslands
with butterflies and grasshoppers.
It then enters the shady secondary forest filled with birds and other
mysterious insects.
Passing under pine trees, the trail eventually leads to the seashore
with the Johor Straits on one side and mangroves on the other.
Here you can enjoy fabulous views of Johor, and perhaps spot birds
such as bee-eaters and kingfishers perched on the mangrove trees.
On the trail, tiger beetles are always busy on a hot afternoon, while
wild orchids sometimes sprout on among the herbs on the sides of the
trail. The crocodile was once spotted in the mangroves too!
