Youth to clean up Chek Jawa

More than 50 young volunteers will help clean up Chek Jawa on Pulau Ubin this Saturday.

The project, by the Singapore International Foundation's Youth Expedition Project Alumni (Yepa), is part of the annual International Coastal Cleanup Singapore (ICCS) campaign.

The Blue Water Volunteers, a group of YEP members passionate about marine conservation, aims to collect up to one ton of debris and forward the data to environmental agencies.

They also hope to broaden awareness through public education programmes, which include guided walks on the reef flats of the Southern Islands on Nov 14 and Dec 12.
