Colony 5-10cm,. Polyps 1cm in diameter on stalks 0.5-2cm long. Eight broad tentacles with thick side branches. Beige, pink, pale powder blue to bright blue, entire animal the same colour. The polyps don't pulsate. On stones in coral rubble. Commonly seen on our Southern shores. Colony 10-15cm. Polyps 1-1.5cm in diameter, on stalks 1-2cm long. Eight skinny tentacles with long thin side branches. Side branches pale brown, oral disk and main tentacles paler. The polyps don't pulsate. On coral rubble. Seen on our Southern shores. Colony 10-15cm. Polyps about 1cm in diameter, on stalks about 1cm long. Eight skinny tentacles with short thin side branches. Side branches brownish, oral disk and tentacles white, greenish or bluish. The polyps emerge from an encrusting purple common membrane. The polyps don't pulsate. On coral rubble. Seen on our Southern shores. Colony 5-10cm. Polyps about 2cm in diameter, on stalks about 3-5cm long. Eight skinny tentacles with short thin side branches. Side branches brownish, oral disk and tentacles pinkish. The polyps emerge from a common membrane. The polyps may pulsate. On coral rubble. Seen on our Southern shores. Colony 5-10cm. Tny polyps about 0.5cm in diameter. A long thin body column topped by a tiny ring of delicate tentacles. Often only the feathery fan is seen above the surface. Pale brown. On coral rubble.Commonly seen on many of our shores.
