Bushy on rubble and ropes, sometimes a crunchy carpet among seagrasses. Commonly seen on all our shores. 3-6cm. Cluster of stiff, thick, cylindrical 'stems' regularly branched, a darker pink dot at the tip. Pink, maroon. Bushy among living reefs and on rubble. Commonly seen on our Southern shores. 5-8cm. Cluster of stiff, thick, cylindrical 'stems' forming Y-shapes, tipped with a white squarish 'cap'. Pink. Flat layers (not bushy) among living reefs. Commonly seen on our Southern shores.   Short thin 'stems' finely branched with pointed projections giving an overall prickly appearance. On coral rubble. Sometimes seen on our Southern shores.

Thin, pink or red layer on hard surfaces. On coral rubble. Common on our Southern shores. 2-4cm circular disks, hard encrusting hard surfaces near reefs.
