Open only to NSS members and associates Seaweeds figure prominently in the ecology of marine waters, and are a major part of the local economy of many countries in the region as well. Locally, however, how familiar are most of us with marine plants and algae? Before walking along the sandy shores of Labrador to look for seaweeds washed onto the beach, we will take a slow stroll through the Park to find interesting plants in the natural and landscaped vegetation of the Park. Find out about the work being done to help protect the marine life at Labrador by members of the “Labrador Beach Watch”, a volunteer effort supported by local green groups including NSS. Running out of ideas of where to go with your girlfriend/ boyfriend or wife/husband? Here's a chance to get down and dirty in the forest (pun intended)! Plant a tree together and watch it grow into the canopy! In support of Romancing Singapore 2004, NParks and MCDS are jointly organising a "Tree Planting for Couples" activity! Cost: $100 per couple.
