What Singapore Lost When Genting Won.
"...Harry's Island, an innovative, environmentally conscious, and truly integrated resort, conceptualised by Mr. Advent and his Eighth Wonder team, is uniquely positioned to become the premiere Asian family oriented tropical resort, thereby putting Singapore on the global traveller's map, and ultimately resulting in Singapore becoming a "must visit" destination the world over."

"Some people say that the government goes for the "safe" choice. I'd say that the government has chosen the best choice that is really “fail-safe”. If I have to vote for any of the three proposals, I would choose Genting and Star Cruise because it is the proposal which can create the most lively, entertaining environment in Sentosa.

Surely, the aquariums in the other two plans are well-proposed, but they are bereft of individuality as compared to some real hands-on experience with these marine animals. To me, the idea of swimming next to a whale shark is once in a lifetime and I will definitely go for an unforgettable swim with these large, benign creatures."

" Having read the comments on the winning concept, I wonder why a design that blends in with the environment is so unique. Imagine a tourist staying at the resort hotel and every morning he wakes up in his Kampung spa house, all he could see is Vivocity and developments on the main island. Is Singapore trying so hard to make Sentosa into another Maldives or Bali or to create the resort feeling? You cannot fool tourists just by building resorts that blends in with environment. And I don't remember seeing any kampung hut in Sentosa ever since I first visit there. And now they are going to do just that. Is it because Singapore started out as a Malay kumpung village, so we must tell the world that? Wouldn't it better to go stay in kampung resorts in Malaysia?"

"1) have the authorities taken the amount of water that is needed to be used in Resorts World into consideration? 8 hectares of marine tank and 6.5million gallon of water is no joke... Can Sentosa take up such a demanding amount of water pressure?"
