Shell spherical with orangey brown bands, a small depression on the
underside. Operculum is chalky and white with a dark spot. Sandy shores.

near the shell opening. Operculum is amber brown. Sandy shores. Commonly
seen on our Southern shores. |

Shell heavy, globular, very flat, smooth and glossy, plain cream or
pale yellow to brown. Deep U-shaped depression on the white underside.
Operculum reddish or yellowish brown. Sandy area near seagrasses.

Shell heavy, globular, not very flat. Broad white spiral band at spire.
A deep half U-shaped depression underside. Operculum reddish. Sandy
area near seagrasses. Seen once on Cyrene Reef. |

a large shell opening and is usually completely covered by the living
animal. Seagrass meadows. Sometimes seen on our shores. |
