On boulders, sometimes seen on some of our shores.

Shell thick smooth, shell opening orange. Operculum flexible horn-like material. Sometimes seen on some of our shores.

Shell thick with many smooth spiral cords. Chalky operculum, smooth, dark green centre with yellowish and white margins. On rocks and rubble near living reefs. Commonly seen on many of our shores. 3-5cm. Shell thick with many ribbed spiral cords. Chalky operculum with a texture of tiny bumps, dark green with greyish and white margins. Among boulders and on sea walls. Sometimes seen on some of our shores. 6cm. Shell thick smooth, without cords. Brown with banded fine lines. Operculum hemi-spherical. Rarely seen on our Southern shores.

Shell, thick and flattened conical usually hidden by encrusting lifeforms. Shell opening pearly. Operculum thin, brown and horn-like.
